Ministry at CCFM: Ministry Coordinator
Ministry Background: My freshman year of high school I started taking my faith seriously and became involved with my parish youth group. I joined our youth council and started attending camps and retreats for high school students. The next year I began volunteering with our middle school youth program. Throughout the rest of my time in high school, I continued to lead and mentor this age group, planning retreats, overseeing a junior high youth council and taking a large role in planning and teaching lessons for religious education. When I went off to college, I knew I wanted to continue doing this type of ministry. One of the first organizations I got involved with after moving to College Station was the middle school Keysis program at St. Joseph’s in Bryan. During my time as a volunteer, I gave talks during many youth sessions, staffed camps, led retreats, participated in Bible studies, chaperoned social events. During the spring of 2012, I transitioned into the ministry leader position for the middle

school program. Over the past year, my care and compassion for these youth has increased exponentially. Youth ministry is a huge part of my life that brings me great joy and fulfillment. I am always honored and humbled by God’s choice to work through us to love and nuture these young people as they grow in faith.
Passions & Interests: I love to travel and go on adventures. I really enjoy theology and learning more about my faith. I like having God-centered conversations with friends. I am very involved in the pro-life movement and am a sidewalk counselor in the Bryan area. I enjoy reading and writing. I love to be outside in God’s creation, particularly under the night sky because I love the stars. I’m trying to learn to play the guitar. That's already been going on for 3 years, so maybe one day it'll happen. I love to spend time with friends and to laugh. I’m also an avid coffee drinker and peanut butter eater. I love watching God work in my life and the lives of others.
How did you become involved with CCFM and why? When Matt Rice first began trying to make his idea of CCFM a reality, I was fortunate enough to be working with him at St. Joseph’s in Bryan. A small group of us who are very passionate about youth ministry and the mission of CCFM began brainstorming and collaboraing on how to make this all come to pass. Through God’s grace, here we are today with an up and running ministry. I’m involved with CCFM because I really believe in what it is seeking to do, to reach out to the hearts of youth and truly engage them in their faith in a new and affective format. I think it’s wonderful, because it really is all about identifying what their hearts are hungry for and helping parishes awaken these young people to their call to holiness. Also, the way that we on the team work together in this ministry brings me so much hope and excitement for things to come. I pray that the Spirit will continue to work and move in all of us and those that we minister to.
